I personally told Dr. Bar-Shain how helpful his session was. His always are!
We struggle with very similar things - nice ideas to take back to our operational leadership
Outstanding - demonstrated ways to program the complexity of the new pneumococcal guidelines.
Great session, as usual. David and [...] are always informative, knowledgeable, and innovative.
The MetroHealth build should be the standard that Epic supports. They are so solid on decision support and especially related to immunizations. I love Dr. Bar-Shain's presentations.
What changes will you apply . . .
. . . Will look at our IMM build and HM build for these two imms.
. . . Will hopefully develop immunization improvement project including development of HM and registries for pneumonococcal vaccination. Also, the idea of turning off the HM override for immunizations was an important concept that I will take back.
. . . We are working on implementing Epic's Foundation build
. . . We will be implementing a HM topic for pneumococcal vaccination.
. . . Helps planning for our upcoming Epic implementation
. . . great ideas to complete much work in the Amb setting. will push for that work and the associated BPA's
. . . Use local registries. Create CER rules to encourage ordering and compliance.
. . . Implemented Pneumocccal rules, already planned but this may change the approach
. . . Consider registry based HM
I enjoyed your talk on Pneumococcal Vaccines at XGM. Matter of fact we are reproducing your build to use in our hospital...I also wanted to thank you for your ... extensive appendix/slides. It made the build markedly easier.

We implemented your Adult Pneumococcal Build using Registry and our 1st month compared to month before implementation showed an almost 200% increase in administrations of Pneumovax or Prevnar in the inpatient (still waiting for ambulatory report). So, extremely effective.
Thank you for sharing your work and build.
